2008 Talent Show Winners Announced

The fifth annual HerrinFesta Talent Contest was held in the Herrin Civic Center Wednesday night. Over thirty contestants competed in six divisions as well as in the Williamson County Fair Talent Contest.

Class A (Kindergarden through 2nd Grade) second place winner was Demi Groh of Marion who performed “Tomorrow.” First place went to Jenna Brandon of Herrin for her vocal performance of “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.” Class B (3rd – 5th grades) first place winner was Bailee Endenbrock of Herrin for her performance of the melody from “Annie.” Second place was awarded to Darcy Dreyer of Marion for her vocal performance of “When There Was Me and You.” Class C (6-8th grades) first place winner was Vincent Segretario from Marion for his vocal performance of “Bring Him Home.” Second place went to Spencer Gualdoni for his performance of “New York, New York.”

The junior division of the Williamson County Fair competition warded first place to Bailee Endenbrock, second to Dalton Rothchild, and third to Vincent Segretario. Endenbrock will compete for state honors in Springfield in January.

Class D (High School) honors went to Caleb Dehne and Josh Kimball from Benton with their duet of “Lilly’s Eyes.” Second place was awarded to Meridith Pitts of West Frankfort, who performed “Home.”

Class E (College) first place winner was Matt Basler with his vocal and guitar performance of “You Don’t Know Me.” Second place went to Jordan Hatley of Herrin for his performance of “Johanna.”

Two bands competed in the talent contest, first place went to “Tomb of Kings” from Benton, and second place to “Boys and Arrows” of Marion.

The adult division winners of the Williamson County Fair Talent Contest were first place winner Caleb Dehne and Josh Kimball, second place winner Campbell Hunt, and third place winner Jordan Hatley. Dehne and Kimball will move on to the state competition in Springfield in January.

HerrinFesta would like to thank Subway for bringing Miss Illinois, Ashley Hatfield, to be the special guest emcee at this year’s talent contest.
