A Public Statement Regarding the REO Speedwagon Concert

As part of the 25th Anniversary of HerrinFesta Italiana, we were proud to bring rock legends REO Speedwagon to Herrin. With an all-new stage and Piazza, we were looking forward to a great evening. Unfortunately, weather caused the REO Speedwagon concert to be cut short.

Any outdoor concert venue poses the risk of rain. Our team began tracking the weather, and working with local meteorologists early this morning. We made the decision to move our band times up by 30 minutes, and to shorten the sets for both opening acts, resulting in REO Speedwagon taking the stage an hour before originally planned. We were hopeful this would allow the complete set to be played before the rain arrived. Unfortunately, this did not happen.

I would like to extend my sincere apologies to everyone who was disappointed tonight. The HerrinFesta Committee shares in your disappointment. We want everyone to enjoy a full show, every night; and we do our very best to ensure that happens, but we are not perfect.

Thank you for attending, and we hope you enjoyed the brief REO Speedwagon concert, as well as music from Mr. Swamp Fox and Nemesis.

HerrinFesta Italiana continues tomorrow with Chase Rice on the Piazza stage.

Sincerely,
Cris Trapani, President
